Coleman Accelerated Transport is a drayage carrier operating out of the Port of Charleston. This policy explains what personal information we collect from our drivers and staff, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to dispatch loads and pay the people who move them.
- Name — to assign loads and match a driver to a truck, trip, and settlement.
- Mobile number — to send dispatch text messages: gate codes, container assignments, and appointment times.
- Email address — to send paperwork, settlements, and load documents.
- Employment records — licensing, hours-of-service logs, and payroll records required to operate as a motor carrier.
- Dispatch activity — loads assigned, containers moved, and gate transactions, kept as our business records.
We do not collect information from the general public through this messaging program, and there is no public sign-up.
How we use it
- Dispatching loads and sending port gate codes to the assigned driver
- Coordinating delivery appointments with customers and terminals
- Meeting our recordkeeping obligations as a federally regulated motor carrier
- Payroll, settlements, and billing
We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles.
Text messaging and your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Your mobile number and your consent to receive text messages are used solely to operate the Coleman Dispatch program described in our SMS Terms & Conditions. They are never sold, rented, or passed to a data broker, lead buyer, or advertiser.
Message frequency varies with the workday: a driver typically receives between two and ten dispatch messages on a day they are dispatched, and none on days they are not working. Message and data rates may apply — we do not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates apply.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP, or by contacting us directly using the information at the bottom of this page.
When we share information
We share personal information only where it is necessary to move freight or where the law requires it:
- Service providers who operate our systems on our behalf, such as our messaging provider, electronic logging provider, and accounting software. They may use the information only to provide that service to us.
- Ports, terminals, and customers where a driver name or truck number must be provided to complete a gate transaction or a delivery.
- Regulators and law enforcement where required by law, subpoena, or a safety audit.
We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it and how it is protected
Dispatch and messaging records are retained for as long as needed to run the business and to satisfy motor carrier recordkeeping rules, then deleted. Records are held in access-controlled business accounts limited to the office staff who need them.
No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment card numbers or Social Security numbers in the dispatch or messaging systems.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete information we are not required to retain. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Opting out of text messages does not affect your employment or your pay.
Children
Our services are directed to commercial drivers and staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our operations change. The effective date below reflects the most recent revision.
